Vandalism in our village

So what is going on in our beautiful village? It appears that someone is intent on vandalising it!
The stocks on the village green have had paint poured on them and the locks broken off. Also one of the wooden parts has been removed and damaged.

Also recently the tea rooms have been vandalised with what appears to be oil. Also a residents new car was attacked.

If you have any information relating to this or any other crime in our village please contact the Essex Police on 101.

Save the bull

The hearing for the planning application to change the use of the Bull pub to residential is on the 3rd November at 7pm in the council chamber Brentwood.

There is still interest in buying the Bull as a pub if the price is more realistic! We need a good turnout of supporters at the hearing.

There is also a group of locals who are applying to register the Pub as a community asset.

Blackmore Village and our Green Belt

URGENT – 17th February 2015 deadline.

Blackmore Village and our Green Belt.

Did you know:-

  • That Brentwood Council’s Development Plan has identified land within Blackmore Village, sufficient for well in excess of one hundred new homes to be constructed?
  • Two, well known, Housebuilding Companies have already acquired Options to purchase two fields in Blackmore? One of these is between Redrose Lane and Woollard Way, the second being the other side of Fingrith Hall Road, linking with Orchard Piece.

The two Builders have indicated to the Council that c.90 homes can be built on one field and c.40 homes on the other. If the smaller scheme finds its way into the final Development Plan, it will increase the number of homes in Blackmore by almost 10%, and obviously much more if the larger scheme happens….or both of them…..The infrastructure of the Village will struggle to cope and the look and feel of the Village would change forever.

If you like Blackmore ‘the way it is’ and if you are interested in helping to protect our Green Belt, then please do not wait and see what happens, rather make sure that:

  1. You read the recent note circulated by our Parish Council.
  2. You spend proper time on the Brentwood Council web-site and read the Development Plan in full…..yes, it’s dull, but they promised to consult with residents and this is our opportunity to help shape the future.
  3. And don’t delay in sending back your Consultation Feedback Forms.

Yes, a resounding ‘vote’ in favour of a large scale development at Dunton Garden Suburb will help alleviate the pressure to ‘grow’ the Villages, but it’s important that we do all that we can to take care of OUR destiny here in Blackmore.

THE CLOSING DATE IS 17th FEBRUARY, so please don’t delay. Your views will count, and leaving it to others might not end up getting the result you want.

Blackmore Farmers' Market 10th anniversary

Blackmore Farmers' Market is celebrating its 10th anniversary this November with a special market on Sunday 16th November at the Village Hall.

If it hadn't been for the support of many in the village, some of whom actually ran the market in the past, the market wouldn't be here 10 years on. So as a thank you, the market is inviting villagers who want to run a stall to join them. Please contact Robbie Legg on email or tel 01277 211883.

For visitors to the market, besides the usual stall holders, the market is to have face painting, gifts, childrens activities and some guest stalls from stall holders of the past. The market is in the Village Hall Sunday 16th November from 10am till 1pm and they hope to see you there.
